We invest significant time in their development, repeatedly prototyping to achieve a sound that feels truly pleasant, all while balancing electrical performance and durability. Over the past five years, we have experimented with more than 20 different cable prototypes, exploring new materials and innovative structural designs.

The CU-7030 is the ultimate instrument cable that embodies the comfortable sound we have been striving for. It features a protective sleeve with a black base and blue accents, along with a distinctive zinc alloy plug cap marked with FREE THE TONE’s signature wave design.

Covering shielded cables with protective sleeves has been a long-established technique. However, we carefully examined various factors, such as how changes in sleeve material impact sound quality, cable flexibility, and resistance to coiling. Ultimately, we adopted a method that involves weaving fiber around the cable’s outer layer, resulting in a unique texture and handling experience.

Additionally, we have taken on the challenge of developing a brand-new plug cap. This is FREE THE TONE’s first time using a casting process for plug cap production. The zinc alloy used in casting offers superior durability and strength. By incorporating this plug cap, we were able to suppress harsh high-frequency overtones, achieving a soft yet well-defined sound.

To ensure the CU-7030 delivers a truly pleasant tonal experience, we tested it extensively with various guitars, basses, and amplifiers, refining its response and overall sound quality.
